Nearly one year after Hurricane Maria devastated Dominica, the island is bracing for the possible impact of Hurricane Isaac forecasted to pass over or near Dominica by Wednesday or Thursday.
Dominica Vibes News took to the streets to ask a few members of the public how they feel about this impending weather system and if there was anything specific they were doing to prepare for it.
One man held on to the notion that lightening does not strike the same place twice.
“Lightning doesn’t strike twice in the same place,” he said, “it’s highly unlikely we will get a hurricane of that category but that doesn’t mean it can’t happen.”
Another passerby, Pierre Louis said that it is rather frightening; “to see what Maria did to us and persons are still not covered and it’s frightful.”
