Member of Parliament for the Soufriere Constituency, Denise Charles has said Soufriere will be transformed into Dominica’s tourism mecca.
Charles, who revealed this while contributing to the 2018/2019 budget debate at Parliament on Thursday 26 July 2018, said she has discussed this transformation with her constituents.
She informed that the constituency will become a constituency that is clean, protects the environment, properly landscaped and welcomes all to its great beauty and wonders.
“Madam Speaker, the most beautiful thing about it is that every constituent, young and old, has a role to play in the new Soufriere; whether [it] is to plant vegetables, sell flowers, fish, work at a resort, provide entertainment, sew bed sheets, roast cashews or provide various services to our resorts, we can all find something to do to have a better standard of living for ourselves and families,” Ms. Charles said.
Charles added “this is our season, this is our time and together we shall build a new Soufriere, by extension a resilient Soufriere”.
