The Dominica Labour Party led government delivers on promises it makes, the Member of Parliament for the Portsmouth Constituency, Ian Douglas has told Parliament.

Minister Douglas, was contributing to the 2018/2019 budget debate on Thursday 26 July 2018.

“You know that any time Dr. Honourable Roosevelt Skerrit promises something, and this government promises, we fulfill our promises,” Mr. Douglas said.

“The Windsor Park was built under this government; the Dominica State College was built, we promised it, we built it; the West Coast road was promised, we built it; the government house [State House] was promised, we built it… the hospital was promised, it is being built before our very eyes,” Douglas said.

Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit presented the 2018/2019 national budget to Parliament the previous day. A number of new and previously promised projects are included to begin under this new fiscal year.

Douglas added, “So there is no reason for me to doubt that the international airport, the industrial port and the cruise ferry terminal will become a reality under this government”.
