Suspects in Newtown shooting death in police custody

The two suspects wanted in the shooting death of Telford Kerry George are currently in police custody.

Information from the Police Public Relations Officer, Simon Edwards, confirmed that the men, Leon Ettienne, age 22 and Jason Telemacque, age 27 both from Loubiere surrendered themselves on the morning of Tuesday 10 July 2018 to officers of the Criminal Investigating Department (CID) at the Police Headquarters.

Reports also indicate that the men were taken in by Parliamentary Representative for the Roseau South Constituency Joshua Francis.

George, 27, of Stockfarm was fatally shot at Newtown on Wednesday 4 July 2018. He received a gunshot wound to his right thigh and one to his waist. At the time he was standing close to a bus parked on the western side of the road.
