The playoffs got off to an exciting, high-flying start on Sunday in the Hon Kelver Darroux Basketball League as the two energetic teams tipped off in game one of their best-of-three semifinal.
Team Ice Cream took first points in the semi-finals series as they defeated the Paix Bouche Super Eagles, in Sunday’s game, winning the game 72-68.
The game remained close throughout, with Ice Cream taking a two point lead into the half. The teams traded baskets in the second half, but in the end, Ice Cream pulled off the 4 point win.
Top scorers for Team Ice Cream were Kerbin Nanthan with 23 points, including 5 threes; and Ramal Carbon who added 13. For the Super Eagles, Hendricks Holsborough bagged an impressive 33 points, while Lenin Paul chipped in with 12.
Game two of the series will be played on Friday at 8pm.
Meanwhile, the Dr. Mac Prowlers will come up against the D-Tread Blazers-All for Ricky in game one of that semifinal series on Wednesday night at 8.
