Members of the Dominica Olympic Committee (DOC) have been encouraged to help and support each other’s activities.
This call came from the president of the Dominica Cycling Association, Ronald Charles, who said the success of one association’s event is a success for the island.
Charles was addressing a press conference where a ten member team for the Organisation of Eastern Caribbean States (OECS) Cycling Championships was revealed.
Charles expressed the view that when one organization is having event, especially when it is a national event, it should be seen as a national event for every other DOC organization.
The OECS Cycling Championship will be held in Dominica on July 1, 2018.
“So therefore we want to see football coming on board and helping and all the other organizations. As long as you’re part of the DOC I believe you should assist, assist in making sure the activity turns out to be successful,” Charles said.
The ten man team is comprised of Chester Letang, Levi Baron Sr., Bram Sanderson, Hayden Mills, Koath Baron, Kevon Boyd, Ronald Charles, Eddison Roudette, Benjamin Daniel and Enoch Telemacque.
The race begins from Ma Boyd’s Bar on Goodwill Road to Portsmouth and back with cyclists having to rider just over 50 miles.
