Team Ice Cream kept its winning streak alive in their matchup against the Elijah Law Chambers Thundererz on Friday night, as they took a 23 point win in the first game of the weekend in the Kelver Darroux Basketball League.
Ice Cream gained momentum late in the game, beating the Thundererz 80 to 57. At the half, Thundererz were only down by 1 point, but, in the third quarter, Ice Cream outscored the Thundererz 31 to 14. Top scoring for Team Ice Cream were Kervin Augustine and Kijuan Thomas with 21 points each, while for Thundererz, Hakim Dangleben had 24.
In game two on Friday, the Kelver Darroux Hurricanes put up a commendable fight against the Paix Bouche Super Eagles, but that was not enough to avoid a 14 point loss. At the half, the Hurricanes were only down 8, but had a very low scoring third quarter. Final scores left the Super Eagles with 65 points, and the Hurricanes with 51. Topping all scorers was Dave Alexis of the Super Eagles with 24 points, while Dwight Paul bagged 12 for the Hurricanes.
On Saturday night, game one pit the Pichelin Sports Club Falcons against the Police Sports Club. The Falcons, however, dominated the game and walked away with the decisive victory, 65 to 33. Yannick Regis led the score board for the Falcons with 20 points, while Khalim Thomas added 12. For the Police, it was Daniel Ormond with 13.
In Saturday’s second game, the E.H Charles Crossover took on the D-Tread Blazers-All for Ricky in a competitive match up. The Blazers were able to come away with the win, scoring 51 points to Crossover’s 43. For the Blazers, the duo of Thomas Felix and Lester Langlais led the scoring with a combined 28 points, scoring 15 and 13 points respectively. For Crossover, it was Brandon Lazar with 12.
There were no games played on Sunday, however play resumes Wednesday night when Kairi FM Ole Skool to face off against the D-Tread Blazers-All for Ricky at 7:30.
