A trough system is expected to continue to generate an increase in cloudiness and shower activity across the Lesser Antilles during the next 24 hours, the Dominica Meteorological Service has advised.
In its 6AM Weather Outlook for Dominica and the Lesser Antilles issued on Saturday 19 May 2018, the Met Office said a tropical wave is projected to move across the southern portion of the island chain by tomorrow, Sunday into early Monday spreading showers across the island. Breezy conditions will be maintained across the area.
“People in areas prone to flooding, landslides and falling rocks are advised to be vigilant and to exercise caution during the period,” the advisory added.
Moderate seas are expected during the next 24 to 48 hours with waves peaking between 7.0 to 8.0 feet. Small craft operators and sea bathers are advised to exercise caution.
The forecast for today and tonight is mostly cloudy to overcast at times and breezy with scattered showers and periods of rain.
