Kelver Darroux Basketball league kicks off

The Kelver Darroux Basketball league kicked off with four games being played over the opening weekend in St. Joseph.

Two games were played on Friday, May 11th with Crossover playing Dark Knights in the first match up. Crossover emerged victorious, scoring sixty seven points, over Dark Knights twenty one points.

Top scorers for Crossover include Brandon Lazare with sixteen points and McCray Edwards with ten points. Rodrique Blaize was the top scorer for Dark Knights with eleven points.

In Friday’s second match up, Team Ice Cream came up against the Salisbury Clouds. Team Ice Cream emerged with sixty points, with Garvin Joseph and Kijuan Thomas as the top scorers scoring twenty-one points and fifteen points respectively.

Clouds scored thirty-eight points, with Shaelon Vidal scoring sixteen points and Dean Vidal five as the team’s top scorers.

In Saturday’s game, Falcons won against the St. Joseph Hurricanes by seventeen points, scoring seventy-eight to Hurricanes sixty-one points.

Top scorers for Falcons included Javie Bellot with twenty points, Khalim Thomas with twenty-two points and Yawani Regis with eleven points. Jonathan Mills and Jerry Wright were the top scorers for the Hurricanes, scoring twenty-one and fifteen respectively.

Sunday’s match was a low scoring one between the X-Men and the Police Sports Club. X-Men took the win scoring forty-four points to the Police twenty-six.

Top scorers for the X-Men were Jevon Christmas and Davidson Toulon with ten points each, while Keran James and Emmanuel Loblack were the top scorers for the Police Sports Club each scoring five points.

League games will continue in St. Joseph on Wednesday night from 7 p.m.
