Dominica will benefit from 3.5 million dollars allotted by the ALBA Bank to aid in relieving the effects of natural disasters in the region.
During the second cooperation conference of the Association of Caribbean States (ACS), an official explained that financial institution made the contributions through the Program of Natural Disasters Prevention in the zone ALBA-Caribe.
The ALBA Bank was created in Caracas on January 26, 2008 by initiative of the heads of State and Government of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America-Trade Treaty of the Peoples (ALBA-TCP) with the objective of financing projects inside the process of regional integration.
Among the objectives of financial support due to natural disasters, stand out the reposition of the power system affected by meteorological events, the reconstruction of essential infrastructures to preserve the life of persons and the acquisition of inputs for the immediate attention of victims, added Gordils.
The conference of the Association of Caribbean States will conclude on Friday with the ordinary meeting of the Council of Ministers of the organization.
Antigua and Barbuda will also benefit from these 3.5 million dollars.
