Prime Minister of Dominica, Roosevelt Skerrit has expressed his gratitude to Harris Paints after the company donated approximately six hundred thousand dollars’ worth of paint and supplies, noting that it would greatly impact the lives of many citizens.
Mr. Skerrit was speaking at the official handing over ceremony held on Tuesday at the Office of the Prime Minister where he stated that the presentation will make a great difference in the homes of many Dominicans.
“This contribution will go towards mainly, in some cases, government buildings, some of the homes which provide care to senior citizens, and to the vulnerable groups in our society. It will also go towards homes where our senior citizens reside and also our vulnerable children. So that is the direction I will give to the Ministry of Housing in regard to the distribution of the paint,” he went on to note.
Mr. Skerrit added that the donation should not go unrecognized, as everything donation, no matter how small, will go a long way in assisting the country in its recovery and because of that, citizens should be grateful.
“I have always said to the citizens of Dominica, that whatever we receive in our time of need we should be grateful for it. So had it been six thousand or sixty thousand we would have appreciated it the very same as we for a six hundred thousand dollar contribution. Because every little helps and every little counts, in recognizing the task which the country has in rebuilding after this devastating hurricane,” Mr. Skerrit stated.
