The Massy Under 20 Secondary Schools Cricket Championship is scheduled to begin this month, becoming the first school championship post Maria.

Sports Officer Kevin James stated in an interview with Dominica Vibes on Tuesday 2 January 2018, that the championship will begin near the end of this month.

In the second school term, he said, the Under 15 Secondary Schools Competition will be held.

“We are putting together a program to start working with Under15 players from as early as January or February,” James added.

The Sports Division he said is excited for these championships as well as other programs scheduled for the year as they know the importance of the programs and matches for the development of the young players.

“Hopefully we will do enough work with them to get them ready for the competition that we are supposed to be taking part in in December, and get them well prepared for it. So there are a few things coming up and we are excited about because we know the importance of these sort of programs in the continuous development of these you cricketers,” James said.
