Curfew hours have been reviewed from 4 p.m. to 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. to 6 a.m., Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit announced after consultation with the Chief of Police Daniel Carbon.

Skerrit made this announcement at the daily press briefing held at the Financial Center on Thursday, October 5th, 2017, noting that the new hours will be implemented effective immediately.

“So the new hours will allow folks to get to work on time or even before time and allow you to get home safely an adequately,” he explained noting that  the review comes as most persons are now behaving themselves, adding that the more persons who behave themselves, the more relaxed authorities will be in reference to the curfew.

Skerrit stated that the Chief of Police has further advised him that the hours shall be reviewed in the next seventy two hours, when he will then advise the President on further amendments if needed or required in respect to the curfew hours.

However, the prime minister said the state of emergency will remain in effect for the time being.
