Extended Forecast from the Dominica Meteorological Service

Statement on Tropical Waves to Affect the Eastern Caribbean from Tuesday into Wednesday and from Friday into Saturday

A tropical wave which is being monitored by the National Hurricane Center (NHC) currently has high chance of becoming a tropical depression on its approach towards the Lesser Antilles, Tuesday into Wednesday.

*Formation chance through 48 hours…medium…70 percent.

*Formation chance through 5 days…high…90 percent.

Regardless of development, this system is likely to produce squally weather with locally heavy showers and seas possibly up to 12 feet across the Windward Islands to the south of Dominica to Tobago, from Tuesday evening into Wednesday.

Another tropical wave which is being monitored in the eastern Atlantic currently has a low chance of development. This wave is expected to approach the islands on Friday.

Residents are advised to keep updated on information provided on these tropical waves.
