Disney Cruise Lines, one of the major cruise lines in the world, is said to make an inaugural visit to Dominica some time in July. Chief Executive Officer of the Discover Dominica Authority, Colin Piper stated that this is highly anticipated as it’s a first time the cruise line will be coming to Dominica.
Piper stated that more information will be made available to the public once everything is finalized.
“As it relates to inaugurals, the one that people are most excited about because I believe it is one of the few lines that has not come to Dominica yet, is Disney. Right now we have a call tentatively scheduled for some time in July, so we will give you more details,” Piper stated.
The CEO of DDA then congratulated the Minister and Ministry of Tourism, and the Chief Executive Officer of the Dominica Air and Sea Port Authority, Benoit Bardouille, for having discussions to make this possible during the Seatrade Cruise Global Event at the Miami Beach Conference Center from April 25 to 28, 2022.
“Kudos to the Minister and the Ministry of Tourism, and the CEO of DASPA for having such discussions and getting that done; its been a long time in the making, and lets hope that finally in July of 2022 it will come to pass,” the CEO of DDA expressed.
The Seatrade Cruise Global Event was attended by the Dominican delegation which consisted of the CEO of DASPA, the Product Promotions Manager (Ag) of Discover Dominica Authority (DDA), Odile Jno Baptiste, and Marketing Executive, Lise Cuffy. The delegation held discussions with other major cruise lines, such as, Royal Caribbean, Norwegian Cruise Line, Princess Cruises, Virgin Voyages, MSC Cruises, Carnival Cruise Lines and others.
The discussion was focused on increasing Dominica’s cruise business, product offerings, and plans for the improvement of the cruise experience and cruise port operations.
