Minister for Tourism, Denise Charles

Tourism Minister Hon. Denise Charles states that discussions are ongoing in expanding the Roseau & Woodbridge Bay Cruise Ports.

She says that the Government of Dominica is exploring every available option to realize this project. She stated that the Dominica Labor Party administration is committed to the people of Dominica to renovate our cruise and cargo ports.

Hon. Charles continued by saying, ‘we plan to expand the pier in Roseau and, we are also looking at different financing modules for the expansion of the cruise port at the Woodbridge bay.’

She also stated that the government is currently receiving a Memorandum of Understanding with a particular developer and exploring their options to deliver on that promise. A new ferry terminal would be included in these plans for Roseau.

According to the Minister, this terminal would feature several shops where local products would be sold on-site.

She commended the Parliamentary Representative for the Roseau Central Constituency, Hon. Melissa Skerrit, for her drive, passion, and working very closely with the Ministry of Tourism, so they can upgrade those facilities in their journey to modernize the city.
