Hon. Dr. Adis King calls on her constituents to follow COVID-19 protocols

The Parliamentary Representative for the St. Joseph Constituency, Hon. Dr. Adis King has called on her constituents to follow the COVID-19 protocols during the Christmas Holidays.

She made the call during the St. Joseph Christmas Lighting & Award Ceremony. The event is a tradition that is done every Christmas time in the constituency.

‘Let us not forget the venerable amongst us and remember that we are each other’s keepers, one of the ways that we can look put for each other is by adhering to the COVID-19 protocols,’ she explained.

She continued encouraging her constituents to continue to practice social distancing, wearing a mask in public, practicing proper hygiene, and please get vaccinated.

Hon. King stated that ‘when we are vaccinated this will help us to go back so some form of normalcy, as vaccines are the only way that we have to fight this dreadful COVID.’

 The event also served as an avenue to award the frontline workers from St. Joseph.

Meanwhile, Dr. King spoke about the various plans she has in store for her constituents for the Christmas season.

‘We decided that we will do our tree lightening, also on the first day before Christmas, we will be providing a hot meal for the elderly and the less fortunate all around the constituency, so we will do it in St Joseph, Mero, Layou, and Belles.”

The Parliamentary Representative also spoke about the plans for the children of the constituency. She stated that they will have toys and party bags for the children and that they usually have the Christmas party but COVID prevented that.

She noted that they will be delivering the toys and party bags to the homes of the children, along with their little snacks.
