Dominica’s registry department along with the Magistrate’s Court and High Court will be moved to a new facility in New Year.
That’s the report from the Minister Responsible for National Security, Hon. Rayburn Blackmoore said that construction works for the new facility have been completed.
The courts suffered extensive damages during the passage of Hurricane Maria in 2017, following which the state assured that proper accommodation would be provided.
Hon. Blackmoore stated that $1.1 million was spent to ensure that the Registry, inclusive of the island’s Supreme Court, can be relocated.
Blackmoore informed the general public that the construction works have been completed, and come after Christmas the Registry, inclusive of both courts will be in a newly refurbished, modernized environment.
