In observance of Tourism Awareness Month, the Dominica Hotel and Tourism Association (DHTA) will be embarking on another series of hikes as part of Hike Fest.
This year’s edition of Hike Fest will be the 12th edition and will be held under the theme “Vini Ansanm”
Executive Vice President of the Dominica Hotel and Tourism Association, Kevin Francis has said that “the hosting of the hikes has been extremely challenging due to the restrictions and protocols due to the pandemic.”
He said, “We are pleased to announce we will be having Hike Fest this year.”
Francis informed that hikers can look forward to community tourism hokes and more in this year’s edition of hike fest, including “night hike” for a third time.
“On May 15th, we’ll be going to Victoria Falls. This hike will be hosted by Rosalie Bay Eco Resort. And afterward, hikers can enjoy the amenities with a day pay, gifts, discounts, and massages.”
He also pointed out a 20% discount on stays purchased on that day before continuing with the fact that on the 22nd will be the restarting of Night Hikes. The Hike will be to the “west” portion of the Cabrit’s National Park. “The hike is facilitated by Mr. Cyril John from Forestry Wildlife and Parks Division,” said Francis. “The last hike May 29th, we’re having a special hike this year-the Morne Diablotin Challenge.” Teams of three will compete for the fastest total time to the summit of Morne Diablotin.
