A 33-year-old Haitian National and an employee of Jungle Bay Resort, Jacky Volcy, and his friend are winners of the Lotto Super 6 Jackpot.
The winning jackpot was $442,650.00.
Volcy purchased his lotto ticket at McMillan Gas Station in Castle Comfort.
The announcement of Jacky’s winnings were made public during a short press conference earlier today outside the Dominica National Lottery building.
“At the day of the draw, the jackpot was $440,100, but in his jackpot-winning ticket, we also had a match 5 and two match 4 winners. So, we are indeed extremely happy that we can make this presentation and we would like to congratulate our winner for taking part in our game,” Sales & Marketing Manager of the Dominica National Lottery, Ken George stated.
George also stated that the Dominica National lottery has no boundaries as to who can participate in the lottery games. “As long as you buy your ticket legal tender, you are qualified to play and to win,” he said.
“So I would like to encourage all other nationals who are living and residing in Dominica that you too can play our game and there are absolutely no restrictions as to you when you win that all the speculations that we hear about.”
Jacky Volcy who spoke in his native Haitian language, indicated how happy he was to know of his winnings.
“Mwen santi mwen kontan. Se pa mwen sèlman. Èske mwen menm ak zanmi m ‘ki te ale achte tikè la. Nou santi nou kontan paske li pa te yon bagay ki te fasil li te difisil pou nou,” Volcy said. [I feel happy. It wasn’t me alone. Is me and my friend who went and bought the ticket. We feel happy because it wasn’t something that was easy it was difficult for us]
