The Dominica Council on Ageing Inc. has ended 2020 on a good note. That’s the sentiments of the President of the council, Ophelia Marie.
On December 27, 2020, various artists to include Daryl Bobb, Jerry Lloyd, Colton T, Derrick ‘Rah’ Peters, and others joined with the Council on Ageing in putting on a virtual show for mainly the senior citizens who were at their homes.
Marie said the council got good reviews from the public on the show.
“People were happy that we had come together just to bring cheer and to remind them that even if COVID was going on there had to be a point at which we stopped and paid attention and expressed gratitude over the fact that our savior was born, some say it was in December but at least he was born.”
The staff of the council also visited its centenarians across the island bringing along gifts as they closed 2020 on a high.
“Those we visited were happy, they sang Christmas carols with us, they spoke about us looking nice and bringing Christmas for them that kind of way. They were pleased to have our visit; I could see that. We prayed together with those who wanted to pray and they asked us to come back,” President of the Dominica Council on Ageing, Ophelia Marie said.
