Minister highlights gains for 2020

Parliamentary Representative for the Mahaut Constituency, Hon. Rayburn Blackmoore has highlighted a number of achievements within his constituency for the year 2020.

The Minister made these highlights during his Christmas message to the nation.

Blackmoore: “A hundred and eighteen persons from the constituency received new resilient housing units in Jimmit The road in Checkhall, Massacre, is being reconstructed, the road in Despor just last week was rehabilitated. The Massacre basketball court indoor facility will be completed early next year.”

The Parliamentary Representative also informed that the construction of a new state-of-the-art primary school for Mahaut will begin in 2021.

“Work will commence on a brand-new modern L-shaped Primary School and I can tell you the design is looking very pretty,” Blackmoore stated. He added, “It will be the first of its kind in Dominica.”

A new health facility is also on the cards to be opened in Mahaut in 2021 and named after a former nurse.

“Very soon the new health and wellness facility will be opened in Mahaut and it will be named after nurse Mary Murphy. Those of us old enough will recall that nurse Mary Murphy was not only a nurse but a community person in Mahaut.”

Mister Blackmoore also says that there is still much more work to be done come 2021.

“Despite all those gains, there is still so much more work to be done. I’m aware that the biggest need of the constituency continues to be housing and I promise no community will be left out,” the Parliamentary Representative for the Mahaut Constituency, Hon. Rayburn Blackmoore said in his 2020 Christmas message.
