The Wesley High School will show its support to the Dominica Cancer Society on Thursday as it holds Cancer Awareness Day.
Students are expected to contribute to the society as they wish to.
Principal of the Wesley High School Hilarion Akpa says, “Tomorrow [Thursday 15th] the children and the teachers who can, will be wearing pink. So everybody will go to school in pink or the children will wear a pink or white T-shirt. There is no planned activity really, it’s just to wear the pink and the children will contribute as they can to the cancer society. The children will be coming to school early, but it is just to support the Dominican cancer society. Because they wrote to us, to all the schools, to allow the children to come to school in pink, to wear pink to go to school.”
He added, “We think that it is normal because cancer is not one-person business, it is everybody’s business so we’re trying to give some consciousness to our children to wear pink and to contribute.”
