Dominica has seen a drop in both serious crimes and minor offences for the year ending 2019 as compared to that of 2018.
That’s according to the Minister for National Security, Rayburn Blackmoore.
During his address in Parliament, Blackmoore says serious crimes have seen a decrease of 8% while the minor offences accounted for a 10% drop.“For the year ending 2019 we had recorded 835 serious crimes and that seventy less than 2018,” he said.
“And so far, for minor offences for the same period we had 3,501 and for 2018 we had 3,856, a drop of 10% Mr. Speaker.”
“This is the lowest the crime rate has ever been in Dominica in decades in our development as a people Mr. Speaker and I want to underscore that,” Blackmoore added.
