Osborne Riviere, a former Member of Parliament for the Colihaut Constituency and government minister, has died.

Mr. Riviere who died on Friday 23 November 2017, was a member of the Dominica Labour Party and served as Foreign Minister. He took up the role of Acting Prime Minister following the sudden death of Prime Minister Pierre Charles before current Prime Minister Roosevelt Skerrit was sworn in.

Riviere exited politics following the 2005 general elections. He was honoured with the Sisserou Award of Honour in 2006.
