Young men of the Dominica State College (DSC) are taking center stage through pageantry this carnival season.
Incorporated with the annual Miss DSC Mas Jamboree Pageant, the DSC is prepared to host its first ever Mr. DSC competition.
On Thursday 23rd January, four contestants were presented to the public.
Student Activities Director at the DSC, Miss Trudy Christian informed Dominica Vibes that this was initiated to incorporate a male aspect into the Mas Jamboree Pageant.
“We wanted to bring something different, we wanted to bring out the male students to the show because students figure it’s a girl thing so we want to bring out the males and allow them to model,” she explained.
Christian made it clear that, “they are not taking part in a pageant, they are going to be modeling., They have costumes sponsored by Hysteria Inc, so they are really going to showcase that sort of carnival revelry but from the male angle.”
The four contestants are Jean-Luc Victor, Carsim Birmingham, Daniel Gordon and Sheldon Narzym Piper.
They will be presented in Casual wear, Costume and Evening wear.
The men have expressed full confidence in claiming the Mr. DSC title, stating that they look forward to putting on a good show.
The competition will be staged together with the Mas Jamboree Pageant on February 18th 2020 at the Windsor Park Stadium Forecourt.
