Contestants of the Miss DSC Mas Jamboree introduced to the student body

The Miss DSC Mas Jamboree Pageant has been officially launched.

On Thursday 31st January six young ladies were officially introduced to the student body as  the contestants of the Miss DSC Mas Jamboree at the Dominica State College.

At the launching there were brief addresses by the: President of the Dominica State College Dr Donald Peters; Dean of General Studies Nadine Riviere; Director of Student Affairs Trudy Christian and; the Contestants introductory speeches.

President of the Dominica State College Dr. Donald Peters expressed the importance of carnival to the island’s culture and said that the State College recognizes that importance hence the 9th Miss DSC Mas Jamboree show.

In addition, he encouraged the student body to have a good time during the carnival season but decently by saying ” I encourage all of you to have a good time this carnival season and “sewo” as hard as you can but please remember that you are students of the Dominica State College… you should behave in a decent manner”.

He also encouraged the contestants to not only focus on pageantry but their academics too.

The Miss Mas Jamboree Show will be on February 27th at the Carnival City where there will be performances by: Asa Banton; Colton T; Signal Band etc.

Director of Student Affairs Trudy Christian at the DSC encourages everyone to come show support on that day.
