A new day time event will be introduced for the 2018 Independence Season.
Creole Rendezvous is an initiative of the Ministry of Tourism and Culture and will be held in October.
Earlson Mathew from the Ministry of Tourism and Culture said during the Dominica Festivals Committee weekly press conference on Wednesday, that the event will provide a platform for local bands and artists to show case their talent and also an opportunity to share and preserve seemingly endangered traditions to a large and diverse audience.
“From the Tourism stand point, what visitors spend on island will help increase revenue earned by all stakeholders as well as give these visitors the full creole experience,” Mr. Mathew said.
Creole Rendezvous will be a four day event with an assortment of daily themes in line with the Re-Discover Dominica Campaign.
The themes for the four day event will include ,day one rediscover fun, day two rediscover mystery, day three rediscover taste and day four rediscover rhythm.
Creole Rendezvous will be held at the Botanical Gardens 22nd – 25th October, 2018 with an admission fee of five dollars.
