The Discover Dominica Authority (DDA) has announced that a free shuttle service will be available for patrons of the World Creole Music Festival (WCMF) being housed in the north of the island.
Acting Festival and Events Manager of the DDA Marva Williams made this announcement at a press conference on Wednesday 30 August 2018.
Williams said following hurricane Maria accommodation in the Roseau area has been affected however stated that more than enough is available in the North of the island.
“In addition to the accommodation this year, what we are doing is providing shuttle services. So we do not want the distance from Portsmouth to Roseau to be taken as an issue, we want it to be taken as an additional experience in the Nature Isle.”
Patrons she said will have the choice of being transported via a coaster or the sea.
“We are going to put some amenities, we will have some music and the excitement to the World Creole Music Festival is going to begin as soon as you take that shuttle service.”
This she added will complement their promotion of ‘Buckle Up’.
“You know don’t drink and drive, get s designated driver. So putting a shuttle service out there for you is a way of ensuring your safety and making sure you can enjoy the World Creole Music Festival to the t.”
