Kassav, Marce et Tumpak and the First Serenade Band are the three new acts added to the 2018 World Creole Music Festival line up.
Acting Events Manager of the WCMF Marva Williams made that announcement at an update on the WCMF Promotion on Wednesday 29 August 2018 at the Prevost Cinemall.
Kassav is a band formed in Guadeloupe in 1979 and have produced over 20 albums, with a further 12 solo albums by band members.
First Serenade is a local band from Point Mitchel which began in 1984 and renown as one of Dominca’s top band.
Marce et Tumpak is a Martinican pop band that uses elements of both traditional and modern music. Their instrumentation includes folk drums like the tibwa and ka, as well as a wooden flute.
Miss William says this year’s World Creole Music Festival is expected to bigger and better post Hurricane Maria. She also welcome patrons and visitors to purchase their tickets early.
“This year there will be a free shuttle service to accommodate patrons via coaster or sea,” Miss Wiliams stated.
The line for night one is Movado, Kassav, Yemi Alade, Triple Kay International, Klass and the First Serenade Band.
The lineup for night two is Machel Montano, Asa Banton, Zouk All Stars, Jean Marc Ferdinand, Orlane, Francky Vincent and Stehane Ravor.
While Chronixx, Kes The Band, Sweet, Micky, Mizik A Nou All Stars, Michele Henderson, Elisha Benoit, Martindale Olive, Carlyn XP, Cornel Phillip and The Signal Band will hit the stage on night three.
The World Creole Music festival is carded for 26th – 28th October, 2018.
