Four 2017 Carnival Queen contestants receive sponsorship

Four of the seven young ladies, who will compete for the 2017 Miss Dominica title, have secured sponsorship.

This was disclosed at the first Mas Domnik press conference held on Wednesday 11 January 2017 at the Dominica Festivals Committee’s office in Roseau.

The four contestants which are sponsored they are Karla Henry by the Henry Group of Companies and Sign Man; Terisa Lewis by The Caribbean Fire Fighters Association and Step Up Nutrition; Jade Romain by the National Cooperative Credit Union (NCCU), and Zethra Baron. The name of Baron’s sponsor, according to the DFC, will be communicated at a later time.

The other contestants are Gabrielle Abraham representing Goodwill, Ketisha Joseph representing Massacre and Esther Francis representing Goodwill.

by member of the Queen Show Committee, Rhona Riley informed that the contestants have been training since 6 September 2016. They train as a group; three times per week as well as their individual training.

“We hope that the private sector can come on board to support the remaining contestants,” Riley stated.

All seven girls have been launched in their communities and are awaiting the big show on 24 February 2017.
