The Rotary Club of Portsmouth has donated some kitchen supplies to the Savanne Paille Primary School.
District Governor of Caribbean Rotary Club, Trevor Blake, represented the organisation and said they wanted to fill a need.
At the handing over ceremony on Thursday, September 26th, Principal of the Savanne Paille Primary School, Martha Austrie expressed her heartfelt thanks to the Rotary Club and highlighted the fact the donation was made to strangers.
“We want to say how thankful we are, she began. “The people from whom these funds came to purchase these items for us don’t know us. This always says a lot to me; it’s always a very good thing to me when I realise how far people can go to assist those whom they do not know. That out of the warmth of their hearts they are willing to do this and they go the extra mile. They do a lot of voluntary things to assist those who are in need. We say thank you.”
The school received a new refrigerator among other kitchen appliances.
