UWI held a graduation ceremony for one hundred and fifty four participants.
On Tuesday 5th February 2019 participants who have successfully completed their Professional Education course for semester one 2018-2019 received certificates of achievement from UWI.
Head of the University of the West Indies Open Campus Miss Kimone Joseph, expressed that there were five programs for that ten week -semester which were the advanced sales and marketing program, the credit union essentials program, the financial monitoring and evaluation program, the introduction to counseling program and the quantity surveying program.
“The UWI provided six –week, ten-week and thirteen-week courses as a way to allow the young people to develop themselves professionally. It has provided an opportunity for people to develop skills and also to refurbish some of the skills they already have in a particular area”, she explained.
Miss Joseph also expressed that she is proud of the public response that The University of the West Indies open campus has received since the programs had been introduced and that students should expect quality lectures and programs. She is particularly grateful to employers who provided the opportunity for their employees to attend the programs.
Currently, the UWI is planning a number of new programs to introduce during summer.
