A series of activities were showcased during the Multidisciplinary Leadership Course graduation at the Dominica Public Service Union, this month.
Minister for Youth Affairs, Sports and Constituency Empowerment, Honorable Justina Charles delivered a motivational speech to the graduates. Honorable Charles encouraged the graduates to take advantage of the opportunity to better themselves through the skills taught on the courses. She further encouraged the graduates to use their knowledge to help others. “For me, what I would really like to ask [of] you all is not to come, [simply] to add something else to your resume [but to help transform and] develop young people.” Honorable Charles stated.
Other guests included: Tyson Johnson and daughters who performed a number of Christmas carols; and two students who gave speeches on their personal experiences on the program. Terease Morancie, a multidisciplinary leadership student from the Roseau district, gave her views on the leadership course. Julie Blaize, a student from the southern district, spoke on her experiences as a basic counselling student.
The institution is currently offering leadership programs in its south eastern district and have announced that other similar courses would be made available soon.
