Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Education Chandler Hyacinth says a number of preschools that were affected by Hurricane will be refurbished.

Hyacinth made this remark at the handing over ceremony of early childhood resources to early childhood centers on Thursday, at the Education Complex in Bath Estate.

Mrs. Hyacinth said the schools will be refurbished in the upcoming months.

The schools that will be refurbished include Castle Bruce, Clifton, Jones Beaupiere, Mahaut River, Morne Prosper, Bellevue Chopin, Sineku, Morne Jaune, Pichelin, Soufriere and GrandBay

“We in the Ministry of Education, recognize that if every learner is to succeed, a solid foundation is inevitable. We must ensure that children in the preschool years are prepared for life, not just for transitioning in the primary school but being equipped with the foundational skills that are necessary for lifelong learning, Mrs. Hyacinth said.

The learning resources were donated to the early childhood centers by the Dominica America Relief and Development Association (DARDA).
