Twenty-four students from the North East Comprehensive School of Dominica made the bold step towards building and assisting their school, and their communities by extension, through initiation into the North East Comprehensive School Leo Club.

The North East Comprehensive Leo Club, an Alpha Leo Club, with members ranging from 12-18 years old, was chartered by the Lions Club of Dominica and received their charter certificate effective July 10, 2018.

The process started in March 2018 through consultation with school teacher Mrs. Jean Thomas- Jeremy and approval of the Principal and Ministry of Education officials.

The students went through the requisite orientation and training session which prepared them for the role as Leo Club members.

On Thursday, October 18, 2018, in an ceremony officiated by Lion Diana Angol,  past Zone and Region Chairman, the members took their oath of membership, and the board of directors was installed into their respectful positions.

Leo Keshana Thomas will serve as President, while Ronaldosn Momplaisir will serve as Vice President, Malkijah Auguiste as Secretary, Davis Gordon as Treasurer, Nadisha Bellot as Assistant Secretary/Treasurer, with Kayanna Edwards, Nia Auguiste, and Dardrick Gordon as Directors and Tyler Nesbit as the Tail twister.

Principal Octavia Alfred welcomed the initiative in the school and encouraged the students to aspire to make the Leo Motto of Leadership Experience and Opportunity their personal mottos, and to gravitate towards positive influences in act and friendship.

The ceremony was witnessed by fellow students, staff and parents, along with members of the Lions and Leo Clubs of Dominica.
