Caribbean Examination Council (CXC) Registrar Glenroy Cumberbatch is on island to discuss with stakeholders about the future of CXC.
Cumberbatch made that statement during a consultation with the stakeholders on last week.
Mr. Cumberbatch said the consultations will help inform CXC on the way forward around the Caribbean.
“We want to hear from people based on CXC plan on what we are doing where we are going. We want to be in a position to create opportunities so that when students leave school with a certificate, that certificate can assist then to function in the world,” Mr. Cumberbatch stated.
Mr. Cumberbatch said the programs offered by CXC must be able to assist people to improve their communities.
“We want to provide qualifications for persons that will help them to be better citizens. One of the main reason for education is for social development,” Mr. Cumberbatch said.
