25 receive scholarships from Melissa Skerrit Foundation

Founder of the Melissa Skerrit Foundation, Melissa Poponne-SkerritA total of twenty five students of the Dominica State College (DSC) are recipients of scholarships from the Melissa Foundation in collaboration with Montreal Management Consultant Establishment Consultants (MMCE).

The back to school program has been in existence for five years.

The students were awarded the scholarships at a ceremony at the Dominica State College Thursday 4th October, 2018.

Founder of the Melissa Skerrit foundation Melissa Skerrit said the program is dedicated to provide those in need with school supplies and funds necessary to be successful in the classroom.

“The support from MMCE to assist the students is greatly appreciated,” Mrs. Skerrit stated.

Meantime, Representative of the Montreal Management Consultants Establishment Christopher Timmins said the company is committed to giving back to Dominica and its students.

“One of the most important things required for a country and its population to be successful is to ensure that each generation is given the best education available to them. We are proud to partner with the Melissa Skerrit Foundation in this scholarship initiative,” Timmins stated

The scholarships cover the cost of books, shoes, uniforms, and transportation allowance, among other school supplies.
