Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Education and Human Resource Development Chandler Hyacinth welcomed new principals at the annual principals’ meeting on Friday at the Newtown Primary School.
Hyacinth told them, “You are entering in the position at a time of challenge, but we want to encourage you, do not stay in your little small corner, we want to offer you the support of all our other principals; they are just a phone call away.”
She also pledged the support of the entire Education Ministry saying they will offer support.
“Every way that we can assist you so that you can do better, you can improve in efficiency, you can help to produce quality education, we want to support you.”
She also welcomed new guidance counselors telling them they are now part of the Ministry of Education.
“We want to give you ever support so you can thrive and do well. All of us belong to the Ministry of Education; all of us are part of the Ministry of Education.”
The Permanent Secretary also thanked the educators present for their support during the 201/2018 school year.
“Thank you for your patience, your understanding and thank you most of all for your support during the last school year. Last year was challenging, this year will be equally challenging as well,” she said.
