The Dominica Association of Teachers (DAT) began work shortly after the passage of Hurricane Maria, its President Celia Nicholas said and an important project which will assist in boosting communication will soon commence.
Presenting at the National Rebuilding and Economic Partnership Consultation on Monday 19 February 2018, Nicholas said this Information Technology project is important explaining, “Individuals have made mention of communication at that time and this is one of the things we are looking at when school have been selected for this project that they will serve as a conduit of communication to others.”
Since resuming work the DAT has been invited by a number of “friends” in North America and elsewhere.
Meanwhile the DAT will host its 14 biennial conference on April 24, 2018 under the theme ‘Building Better; Dominica Association of Teachers Equipped for the Challenge’.
“We have been equipped for the challenged and we’re pledging our support for this laudable and unique mission which our government and people have decided to embark,” Nicholas said.
