27 June 2020, Basseterre, Saint Christopher (St Kitts) and Nevis – The Digital EC Cash: The fastest, cheapest and safest way to pay for goods and services and transfer money in the Currency Union, will be the focus of the ECCB Digital Dialogues on 30 June from 8:00 to 9:30 p.m.
The Governor of the Eastern Caribbean Central Bank (ECCB), Timothy N. J. Antoine and a panel of experts from the Bank will continue the discussion on the Central Bank’s Digital EC Cash Project under the theme: Advancing the Good of the People of the Currency Union Through a Digital EC Cash Project.
The three panellists will be: Chief Risk Officer and Chair of the ECCB FinTech Working Group, Sharmyn Powell; Senior Bank Examiner, Liane Irish-Wade; and Information Security Analyst, Genelle Lake.
During this second round of a four-part mini-series, the panellists will provide information and engage the public in discussion on (i) Overview of the Project; (ii) Insights on the governance framework in place for the Project (iii) Critical Issues: Cybersecurity, Anti-Money Laundering/Combating the Financing of Terrorism (AML/CFT) and Due Diligence; and (iv) Project Implementation Roadmap.
