Being certified as a vendor in the tourism industry allows individuals to be exposed to knowledge, skills and attitudes that are fundamental to operate as competent, confident and customer-satisfaction focused service providers. Dominica State College’s Division of Tourism and Hospitality Studies is committed to the enhancement of the tourism industry and they are happy to announce the successful completion of their Vendor Certification Training Program. This three-day training program occurred at the Dominica State College, on November 20, 22 and 26. Participants were trained in the following areas:
- Vending with Quality Customer Service
- Record Keeping and Pricing
- Promotion and Marketing of Souvenir Items
- Guidelines for Vending within Nation Parks and Eco-Tourism Sites
- Visitor Expectations and Port Regulations
- Effective Communication
- Stall Designs
The Vendor License received from the Discover Dominica Authority after successful completion of the Vendor Certification Training Program, offered at the Dominica State College, allows vendors to explore multiple dimensions of professional vending with a diverse mix of experienced colleagues. It also saves them from paying EC$5,000 for operating without a license.
The Dominica State College congratulates the participants for taking this bold step in securing their future.
This the 12th time that a Vendor Certification Training is being conducted by the institution.
