Solution-minded creatives with an interest in sustainable development have a chance to earn up to US $15,000.
The United Nations Development Programme is inviting individuals, groups and businesses to submit creative projects designed to solve problems facing the blue economy.
The blue economy means sustainable use of the ocean’s resources for economic growth while protecting the health of the ocean.
The submitted projects must tackle areas such as fisheries, renewable energy, waste management, sustainable tourism and innovative finance
The goal of the call for solutions is to find innovators who are promoting the values of the blue economy through revolutionary ideas and solutions to some of the development challenges that society faces.
These solutions must be completable within 6 months.
This initiative comes from the Blue Lab which is a part of UNDP’s Global Accelerator Labs Network, the world’s largest and fastest learning network to address development challenges in today’s era.
The submitted concepts must be scalable, results driven, experimental, innovative, have a positive impact on communities and livelihoods and offer ongoing solutions to challenges facing the blue economy.
The final day to submit those solutions is December 9th.
