The Ministry of Trade has announced that Dominica has effected Article 164 of the Revised Treaty of Chaguaramas as of October 15th.

That article allows for less developed CARICOM nations to implement measures to promote development of industries by decreasing imports from further afield in favour of less developed regional countries that produce those items.

Trade Director, Matthan Walter, issued a statement which described the move as one that will improve the investment and productive climate in the OECS and Belize.
