The Fort Young Hotel is celebrating 30 years.
Chief Executive Officer of GEMS Holdings Limited, Gregor Nassief, says that while Fort Young is actually 55 years old, it was severely destroyed by Hurricane David in 1979, which led to the introduction of new shareholders.
GEMS Holdings Limited owns and or manages a group of properties including the Fort Young Hotel.
At the official 30th anniversary media conference on Monday, September 30, 2019, he relayed that the hotel’s second life, as he calls it, began in 1989.
Nassief also highlights the significance of celebrating people during such an occasion.
He shared, “It’s very important for a company, whether we are celebrating three, 30 or sixty years, to celebrate the people; the people who work for the company, the persons who founded and or invested and the clients who you serve. Your patrons, partners and suppliers.”
General Manager of Fort Young Hotel, Jose Abruero lauded the establishment’s success as the number one hospitality institution on island.
