Registered businesses in the productive and distributive sectors are now receiving special concessions.
This concession came in to effect on September 1st 2018 and will run for a period of one year.
This special concession was announced in Parliament during the 2018/2019 national budget by the government of Dominica.
It targets businesses that are undertaking repairs, renovation and rebuilding in the after math of Hurricane Maria.
The concession granted is a waiver of import duties on a selected list of building/construction materials and will apply at the point of importation.
The list includes blocks, cement, lumber, plywood, tiles, galvanize, capping and guttering, steel rods, pipes and fittings, sanitary ware, doors and frames, windows and frames, water tanks, nails, screws, electric lamps and light fittings, locks hinges and water heaters, paint, varnish, solar panels and solar panel accessories.
All businesses must apply through the Dominica Discover Authority (DDA) where applications will be assessed and selected.
