A loan has been secured to finance the rehabilitation of the section of road from the Hillsborough Bridge to the newly constructed York Valley Bridge.
The loan was contracted by the Government of Dominica from the Caribbean Development Bank (CDB) and Parliamentary Representative for the St. Joseph Constituency, Kelver Darroux is working alongside the Ministry of Public Works engineers on the designs to rebuild the road networks leading to the York Valley Bridge.
He noted that the completion of the York Valley Bridge is just the start of development in the Layou Valley area, and the road networks leading up to the York Valley Bridge.
“As Member of Parliament for the area, I continue to make significant representation on behalf of my people to ensure that the Ministry of Public Works will move quickly towards advancing the designs for the network of roads from the York Valley Bridge onwards to Pondcasse,” Darroux stated.
He noted that this “is a major project that we must undertake to ensure that we have a complete rehabilitation of the Layou Valley Area”.
“The Government of Dominica has already secured a loan from the Caribbean Development Bank for the section of the road form the Hillsborough Bridge leading up to the York Valley Bridge that will also be undertaken,” Darroux further added.
