The Dominica Export Import Agency (DEXIA), takes great pride in our ability to facilitate the sale of fresh produce, meat and other items at the Roseau Market.  Many of you were able to stock up on these essential goods as you prepared for the impending threat of COVID-19.

This virus is now among us and although operations have been scaled down, we have found it necessary based on international best practices and directives from the Government of the Commonwealth of Dominica, to cease operations altogether, effective 12 NOON Saturday 28th March 2020.

This will give those vendors who have already procured items for vending this weekend, some time to sell and for persons needing to make necessary purchases to do so.

As such, the Market will be opened from 6:00am to 12:00pm on Saturday 28th March. All vendors are asked to remove all items from storage at the end of the business day. Customers are assured that best practices will be observed to mitigate against the spread of the virus including:

·         Regular checks of vendor stations to ensure sanitizers in stock

·         Restrooms have adequate water, soap and toilet paper

·         Social distancing is enforced in all areas.

We urge you to use this time to stay home and stay safe. Please observe health and safety precautions issued by the Ministry of Health, Wellness and New Health Investment and continue to be vigilant in the fight against this pandemic.

Please stay tuned to local media and our facebook page for further updates.
