With guests frequently coming over for special occasions such as parties, cook-outs, dinners, or just casual hang outs, you may eventually feel uncomfortable with your same ole furniture! If you are getting tired with how any room in your home looks and desire a change without spending a lot of money, doing a makeover on a few pieces of existing furniture could be the solution. Here are three simple ways you can improve the appearance of your furniture.

Reupholstery:
If your sofa seems worn out or faded, have it reupholstered instead of purchasing a new one. This is an easy way to improve the sofa’s appearance and extend its useful life as well. Make sure that the fabric you use not only suits your style but also improves the aesthetic of the room. When furniture is reupholstered by a professional it can make your furniture appear as good as new.

Slipcovers:
An inexpensive method to dress up furniture such as sofas and chairs is with the use of slipcovers. Slipcovers are fitted cloth covers designed to be fitted and pulled over the furniture and can be removed easily. Having slipcovers on your furniture can add a touch of elegance to any room, and because they can be removed easily you can have them changed to suit any occasion.

Paint:
One of the cheapest ways to transform old furniture is to repaint them. Consider the walls, artwork, and style of the room and choose colours that will make your furniture stand out in an appealing way. Depending on the condition of your furniture you may need to sand the surface to remove peeling paint or strip away multiple layers of paint before applying a fresh coat.
